Mr. Catalano is often invited to speaking engagements centered on a variety of cross-border issues. On May 12, 2017, he presented “Current Developments in U.S. Auditing and Reporting” at the Geneva Group International European Regional Conference in Brussels, Belgium. In 2014, he spoke on emerging trends in taxation and financial reporting as part of a panel discussion on "Retailing in China˖Italy˖USA" at the Center for Italian Modern Art (CIMA) in New York. He has made presentations addressing “Starting A Business In NYC” (Gabbaron Foundation-Carriage House Center for the Arts, New York, USA, 2014), "Doing Business In Latin America" (Coral Gables, Florida, USA, 2011), "International Business" (Lake Tahoe, Nevada, USA, 2009), "Europeans in America-costly mistakes to avoid!" Mr. Catalano has a BA from New York University, an MBA in Finance from Pace University and is a licensed CPA in New York and Florida. A member of the American Institute, New York State Society and Florida Institute of CPAs, Joseph Catalano is also a Chartered Global Management Accountant who acts as Funaro & Co., PC’s international liaison to Geneva Group International. He has served on the Financial Planning and Control Committee of the NYSSCPA and on the Board of Directors of IECnet, an international association of accountants, auditors and tax consultants located throughout 6 continents. During his tenure with the firm he once worked as an interim CFO of an international steel furnace company.
