Zachary Hollinshead

ZACHARY HOLLINSHEAD joined Funaro & Co. in 2007 after beginning his professional accounting career at a Big Four accounting firm the prior year. He became managing director in 2023 and is currently based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Mr. Hollinshead brings a broad spectrum of practical and applied U.S. Federal, State and local tax advice and tax compliance services, guiding multinationals and U.S. subsidiaries within a range of industries, including wholesale, retail, and production operations, across a wide array of business lines from luxury goods and fashion to healthcare, media & telecoms, food & beverage, and industrial goods.

Mr. Hollinshead’s practice focuses on U.S. corporate and passthrough income tax matters, from start-up to maturity, for expanding U.S. business operations of private and public multinational groups headquartered in both the US and the EU. He has expertise in U.S. tax due diligence, Income Tax Treaty analysis, U.S. withholding tax issues, and income tax provisions compliance for both U.S. GAAP and IFRS purposes. His expertise in U.S. tax matters is also comprised of extensive representation of clients before the Internal Revenue Service as well as various U.S. state and local tax authorities.

Zachary Hollinshead attended academic programs in both Italy and the United States and is conversationally fluent in Italian. He obtained his Master's Degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin, Texas. He attained his Undergraduate Degree in Workforce Education from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, while stationed at Fair Child Air Force Base, Spokane, Washington. Zachary also served as a SERE Specialist in the United States Air Force from 2001 to 2004. He has been licensed to practice as a Certified Public Accountant in New York State since 2009.
